Invoicing

Invoices are created automatically when every lot in the sale has closed: one per winning bidder. Each company has its own invoice numbers.

What an invoice includes

  • The hammer price of each lot won (lots whose reserve was not met are not invoiced).
  • Buyer's premium and credit card fee: the bidder's own rate if set, otherwise the sale or company rate.
  • Sales tax on the hammer only. Bidders marked tax exempt are not charged.
  • Any shipping or extra charges you add.

Getting paid

  • Charge Card on File: charge the card the bidder saved.
  • Pay with New Card: enter a card the bidder gives you.
  • Bidder pays online: the bidder opens the invoice on your bidder site and pays through Stripe.
  • Record offline payment: cash, check or other methods.

You can email invoices and reminders to bidders. An invoice is marked partly paid or paid as payments are recorded, and each invoice can only be charged once at a time, so a double click never charges twice.
