Shipping Terms
Check shipping availability before bidding. A shippable auction does not mean every lot can be shipped. Look at the sale terms and the individual lot for restrictions, eligible destinations, and who arranges packing and delivery.
- Cost: Ask whether shipping is included in the invoice, calculated later, or paid directly to a third party. Packing, insurance, and handling may cost extra.
- Timing: Confirm when payment, packing, and dispatch are expected. Delivery estimates can change after the carrier accepts a package.
- Address: Keep your delivery address current and ask whether a signature or identification is required.
- Damage or loss: Review the auction's packing, insurance, and claims instructions. Keep the packaging and photographs if an item arrives damaged, then contact the responsible party promptly.
- Restricted items: Large, fragile, hazardous, high-value, or regulated lots may require special arrangements or may be pickup only.
If the listing does not clearly say shipping is available for a lot, obtain confirmation from the auction company before you bid.
